Ses clients accèdent aux resources mises à disposition (images, objets JSON, etc.) via le protocole [https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/HyperText_Transfer_Protocol_Secure HTTPS].

L'application
- implémente un service Web qui est exécuté sur un serveur dédié (Linux/Windows).
- est écrite en [http://docs.oracle.com/javase/specs/ Java] et utilise le framework Java [http://www.restlet.org/ RESTlet] et le pilote [http://www.mysql.com/downloads/connector/j/ MySQL Connector/J] pour l'accès à la base de données [http://dev.mysql.com/ MySQL] (voir projet [/polhydro-db/timeline MINERVE-db]).
